History and Location
As part of the Black Mountain Ranch area, Santaluz was built on land that was once inhabited by Native Americans and was later part of one of the many ranchos in the area. In 1998, the San Diego City Council and voters living in San Diego voted to approve the Black Mountain Subarea Plan, which designated 67% of the land for open space and parks and 27% of the land for residential housing units. Homes in Santaluz were first sold in 2003. They range in size from 2,100 to 15,000 square feet and enjoy mountain, valley or views of the Golf Course.
Santaluz is south of the Del Sur neighborhood, north of Fairbanks Highlands, east of Rancho Santa Fe and Fairbanks Ranch, and west of 4S Ranch and the Black Mountain Open Space Park. With easy access to Route 56 and Interstate 15 the community is ideal for those wishing to commute.
Lifestyle
Santaluz has plenty to offer for active professionals, families and retirees. Community life centers around the private membership Santa Luz Club and Gold Course. If you enjoy the great outdoors then you will love this neighborhood. Black Mountain Open Space Park is close by and offers miles of hiking and biking trails with beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Private schools within driving distance include Cathedral Catholic High School, Horizon Prep, San Diego Jewish Academy, Cal Coast Academy, Fusion Academy, Diegueno Country School and Santa Fe Christian School.
