Encinitas

Encinitas (Spanish for "Small Oaks") is a beach community in the North County area of San Diego County, California and is around 25 miles, north of San Diego, between Solana Beach and Carlsbad.

Named one of the 20 best surf towns in the world by National Geographic, it is a great place to live if you love the California lifestyle.

 History and Location

Located along six miles of Pacific coastline, the city has something for everyone from a bustling downtown with cafes, restaurants and boutiques, beautiful beaches as well as rolling hills and open spaces. 

incorporated in 1986, the city brought together the communities of New Encinitas, Old Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Olivenhain and Leucadia to create a single city. The city is great for commuters with easy access to Interstate 5 and a train station close by.

Schools

The Encinitas Union School District serves the city of Encinitas and the Rancho La Costa area of south Carlsbad . Approximately 5,400 students in Kindergarten through 6th grade are enrolled in the District’s nine schools. The schools are all highly rated with many winning awards.
