It’s no secret that we are huge supporters of one of Poway’s most innovative schools, Design39Campus (D39C). Supporting the community that supports us is important to our team and we couldn’t think of a better way of giving back than helping the educators and students that are shaping the future. This is why for every escrow that closes as a result of our relationship with Design39Campus, we donate $500 in supplies from their Amazon wish list.
How to Turn $500 into $1,000
While helping a wonderful family that we met at the school buy a new house, we were able to combine the sale of their current residence to spend $1,000 on a ROBO 3D Printer & different filament colors. The 5th & 6th graders use the 3D printers to create 3-D images in their Makeries. Here they are able to tinker, deconstruct, create prototypes, and simply create. This 3D printing tool is so integral to learning that the school will need a few more to share with other grades as well. (We are working on it!)
Bringing Ideas to Life
This gift helps the students create tangible objects from an image in their minds. As a child, how incredible it must feel to conceive of an idea that you can touch, feel, and show, rather than merely explaining. Design39Campus is consistently applying real life concepts in the classroom: and what better concept than bettering the world or saving lives is there? 3D Printers have literally saved babies lives and raised the standard of living in 3rd world countries. The children exposed to this technology at such a young age are introduced into a world where the possibilities are endless.
